What is the grid structure?

A grid with a flat shape is called a flat grid, or net for short; a net with a curved shape is called a curvilinear net, or net for short. The grid structure has large spatial rigidity, good integrity and stability, good seismic performance, and good architectural modeling effect. It is suitable for industrial and civil buildings with various supporting conditions, various plane shapes, and large and small spans. Because the grid structure has the characteristics of multi-directional force performance and internal force redistribution, it can be used for buildings with poor foundation conditions and uneven settlement. The rods and nodes of the grid structure are relatively simple and easy to manufacture and install. This structure is mainly made of steel, and the structure is light in weight. It has the advantage of saving steel.


The grid structure is a spatial connection structure that connects the stressed members by nodes according to certain rules. Nodes are generally hinged design, rods mainly bear axial force, and the cross-sectional dimensions of rods are relatively small. The cross rods in these spaces support each other, and the force rods and the supporting system are organically combined, and the material is economical. Due to the structural combination rules, a large number of rods and nodes have the same shape and size, which is convenient for factory production and on-site installation.


There are many types of grid structures, which can be classified according to different standards.


1. According to the structure of the grid itself, it can be divided into: single-layer grid structure, double-layer grid structure, and three-layer grid structure. Among them, the single-layer grid and the three-layer grid are respectively suitable for small spans (not greater than 30m) and super large spans (greater than 100m), and there are few domestic engineering applications.


2. According to the building materials, it is divided into: steel mesh, aluminum mesh, wood mesh, plastic mesh, reinforced concrete mesh and combined mesh (such as steel mesh and reinforced concrete slab combined mesh, etc.). Among them, the steel grid has been widely used in our country, and the combined grid can also be used as a floor structure.


3. According to the support situation, it can be divided into: outer support, four-point support, multi-point support, three-sided support, opposite support and mixed support.


According to different construction methods, the grid can be divided into four categories:


1. Cross truss system grid;


2. Triangular pyramid system grid;


3. Quadrangular pyramid system grid;
